Welcome! A Little about Us!
Singing is the sign of the heart's joy (cf Acts 2:46). Thus Saint Augustine says rightly, "Singing is for the one who loves."
There is also the ancient proverb: "one who sings well prays twice. "
As a parish choir, we travel to each of the parish churches to sing at Sunday Mass. Our goal is to sing at one of our 3 churches once a month and to enhance the services for holy days and special events.
Our choir is made up of men and women from our various churches. Our members have a wide variety of musical backgrounds. Some have musical training or degrees, while others have musical backgrounds coming from school choruses, glee clubs, community choirs, Church choirs, karaoke, and even singing in the shower!
We draw on the treasury of sacred music when we sing without the congregation by singing music in various styles and by composers of various periods as well as music that expresses the faith of various cultures.
Our season runs from September through May. We rehearse every Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30, usually at Good Shepherd Church. If you are interested in joining our choir, contact our Music Director, Renee LeBrun at [email protected] or at [email protected]
or by phone at 410-441-1892.
Invitation and Call
Active involvement in the liturgical life of the parish is what the Church, through the Second Vatican Council, calls all of us to. The members of our adult choir work together in a spirit of cooperation and joy, for all of them dearly love the gift of music God has given them. They are volunteers who willingly put in a lot of rehearsal hours in order to enhance the beauty of our liturgies. We hope you'll join us!
